The Israel Festival is proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the outstanding Musrara, the Naggar Multidisciplinary School of Art and Society. Students, teachers and graduates will take over, and make over, the Rebbeca Crown Theatre, flooding it with the experimental, social and inter-disciplinary ethos of the School.
A series of site specific performative acts, dynamic displays, screenings and video installations will turn over the order of things. Rearranging the space, blurring the usual roles and relationships between audience and performer, seats, aisle and stage, a communal space of explosive experimental creativity will be created, breaking and reshaping the rules between us and them, observer-artwork-artist, only to go on to break them all over again.
The evening’s focus will rest on the relation between sound, visual image and live action. The various pieces will reveal the mediatory means of these artistic activities – with their continuity emphasizing the varying layers of interrelation between them. Join us for a memorable evening of celebration, transgression and disruption that will lead us into the exhilarating unknown.
